On March 15, started its work the largest in Moldova business event in the field of agriculture - the International specialized exhibition MOLDAGROTECH (spring) 2017. As an international B2B event, the exhibition is following in its activities the provisions of the National Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas for 2014-2020. One of the objectives of the strategy is to "ensure the access of Moldovan agro-industrial products on national and international markets".
The AGRO MEETING MOLDOVA-RUSSIA was held on the first day of the exhibition MOLDAGROTECH (spring) 2017 in order to support the cooperation in trade and economy of the agro-industrial sector of Moldova with international partners. Within the framework of this event, the exhibition was visited by the official delegation of the Astrakhan region (Russian Federation), led by Konstantin Markelov, Vice-Governor and Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan region. The delegation included representatives of Astrakhan regional government bodies and business structures, including Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region - Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Astrakhan Region Alexei Galkin and Minister of International and External Economic Relations of the Astrakhan Region Denis Afanasyev.
The members of the delegation held business meetings with the heads of companies participating in the exhibition at their stands. During the visit, the sides discussed the possibility of exporting and importing the agricultural products and foodstuffs from the Republic of Moldova and Astrakhan region.
