TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS 2020 IS OPEN

Today at the International Exhibition Center Moldexpo  was opened the 25th International Specialized Exhibition  TOURISM.LEISURE.HOTELS 2020.

 

This year's exhibition is very important for the Republic of Moldova, as it opens up all the attractive sides and future directions of tourism development in our country, said Iuliana Dragalin-Costin, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova. According to her, “this industry is one of the priorities for the government of the country and we will make every effort to develop it, strengthen and increase its competitiveness.” I. Dragalin said that now the Ministry of Economy is working on the Strategy for Tourism 2030 in cooperation with Moldovan market players and international experts. Expressing gratitude to the organizers of the exhibition, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy thanked them for maintaining the high-quality level of the event as a platform that promotes "the exchange of experience, contacts, information for the benefit of companies in the industry and the country's economy as a whole."

 

On behalf of the Igor Dodon, President of the Republic of Moldova, the guests and participants of the exhibition were welcomed by Elena Gorelova, Advisor to the President on Economic Issues. According to E. Gorelova, the President wished exhibitors new business contacts and lucrative agreements. At the same time, she drew attention to the fact that “if the rating of countries in terms of goodwill and friendliness were compiled, then Moldova would occupy the top lines in it ... Therefore, I wish the Moldovan companies to promote this competitive advantage of ours”.

 

The attractiveness of Moldova as a tourist destination was especially noted by Irina Vlah, Bashkan of the ATU Gagauzia. Welcoming the participants and visitors of this “important and significant exhibition for the tourism industry,” she emphasized that “the Republic of Moldova is a wonderful region, rich in traditions, people, and most importantly, in its regions.” In this regard, I. Vlah briefly spoke about the tourist destinations and projects of Gagauzia, invited everyone to visit the traditional festive events of the region, and also called on foreign companies and tourists from abroad to “look at Gagauzia, look at Moldova with different eyes, come to our landmark events and love our country."

 

In turn, Sergiu Manea, President of the Association of Employers of the Tourism Industry of Moldova (APIT),  congratulated those present on the anniversary of the TOURISM.LEISURE.HOTELS exhibition and noted the significant role of the exhibition in promoting the tourism potential of Moldova and the development of international business relations in the field of tourism . In this regard, as well as on the occasion of the first national stand of the Russian Federation in the history of the exhibition, S. Manea read out an appeal by the head of the Federal Tourism Agency of the Russian Federation Zarina Doguzova to guests and participants of the exhibition, which, in particular, states: “Our countries are aimed at increasing mutual tourist exchanges. The TOURISM.LEISURE.HOTELS exhibition provides an opportunity to communicate with experts from the tourism market of our countries, discuss the possibilities of attracting tourists, partners and investments in the tourism industry, present new routes and tourism projects in Moldova and Russia. I wish all exhibitors productive and interesting work.”

 

The exhibition TOURISM.LEISURE.HOTELS 2020 is open from February 13 to 16 at the IEC Moldexpo

 (10.00 to 18.00, February 16, Sunday - until 16.00).
