TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS started its work

Today, on the fairgrounds of IEC MOLDEXPO, was opened the 22nd International specialized exhibition TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS.

Guests, exhibitors and visitors of the exhibition were greeted by Stanislav Rusu, Director of the Tourism Agency. Noting that the exhibition TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS is the most important event in the country's tourism industry, S. Russu stressed that "the world market of tourism has grown significantly in recent years. Tourism has become a vital and, most importantly, affordable necessity for people. The Republic of Moldova does not lag behind in this process and I would like to inform you, with great pleasure, that last year 3 million 400 thousand foreign tourists visited Moldova. This indicator has been growing over the past 4 years. New directions, hotels and tourist infrastructure are opening in the country, that is, the Republic of Moldova is becoming an attractive place for tourists. "

The exhibition TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS has come a long way, and today all the variety of tourist destinations and services are concentrated here, including the domestic tourism, museums, material and spiritual heritage of our country. In his speech, the Director of the Tourism Agency pointed that "the exhibition is not only a B2B platform for new contacts and new contracts, but also opens up new opportunities for tourism and recreation to the general public." In conclusion, as a token of gratitude for the efforts aimed at strengthening the image of the touristic Moldova, Stansilav Rusu presented honorary diplomas to the most active companies in this segment, as well as to representatives of local authorities and other participants of the tourism market.

In her speech at the opening, Cristina Ionela Tărteață, State Secretary at the Ministry of Tourism of Romania, stated that «we participate in the exhibition not only to present the recreational opportunities in Romania, but also with the purpose to deepen cooperation between the two countries, where promotion of regional tourism is one of priorities".  In conclusion, Cristina Ionela Tărteață invited everyone to the national stand of Romania, where, according to her, "a small but very bright part of Romania is represented."

Robert Kirnag, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Slovakia in Moldova, described the exhibition TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS as ”a real celebration of tourism". He noted that "for four years we have been presenting at the exhibition all the best and most interesting destinations for tourists in Slovakia - resorts, mountains, spas and ancient architecture" and urged visitors to "do organoleptic tasting of Slovak wines and chic beer at the national stand of our country".

At the closing of the official opening ceremony, Ion Curmei, the chairman of the Youth League of Moldova, pointed that the exhibition TOURISM. LEISURE. HOTELS is "a very useful platform, offering tour operators excellent opportunities for communication and new contacts." According to Ion Curmei, "the tourist potential of Moldova is huge and it has yet to be mastered.” This year at the exhibition the Youth League in cooperation with Moldexpo launched a new project - the Festival of Tourism. The mission of the project is, among other things, to involve youth in the field of tourism, educating future industry professionals.
