Fashion Week at Moldexpo Is open

Today, the Fashion Week started its work at the International Exhibition Center Moldexpo. This most stylish and fashionable event encompasses the 17th International Exhibition of products, equipment and raw materials for the light industry MOLDOVA FASHION EXPO, International Festival Art Podium, presentations of Moldovan brands in the framework of the project "From Our Hearts", presentations of Moldovan and foreign couturiers and the International Fashion Presentation Inspired by Couture.

Vitalie Zaharia, Executive Director of the Investment and Export Promotion Organization of Moldova (MIEPO), appreciated the Fashion Week as an "unique and long-awaited event". Greeting the participants, guests and visitors of the exhibition, he noted the importance of the event "for both exhibitors and experts in the light industry, and for the general public. MOLDOVA FASHION EXPO gives impetus to the development of the light industry, trade, business environment and, last but not least, improvement of the image of the country as a whole”. According to Mr. Zaharia, the role of the exhibition is also in "promoting the latest trends in fashion and in related businesses”. He also assured that MIEPO will continue "to support the light industry sector, to provide all the necessary assistance to companies in this sector."

Mariana Lapusneanu, Executive Director of the Employers’ Association of the Light Industry (APIUS)informed the audience that visitors will be able to "see the most fashionable and stylish from designers and companies, members of APIUS. Realizing the importance of the industry development, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Association are making efforts in this direction. In this regard, it should be noted that with the support of USAID and the Government of Sweden, we managed to create and promote the brand "Din Inima (From Our Hearts)". Fruitful cooperation with our development partners, including MIEPO, the interest of companies and public for MOLDOVA FASHION EXPO allows us to assert that the light industry sector of Moldova has the best prospects for the future. This also applies to the recognition of Moldovan brands abroad. From year to year the prestige of the exhibition MOLDOVA FASHION EXPO grows, among visitors there are international buyers, experts and consultants".

Valentina Radcenco, the head of the Cultural Foundation ArtPodium, appealed to "those who love and appreciate the creativity of our young designers, to visit the demonstrations of the collections of the best Moldovan designers. Why are they the best? Because they were applauded in Venice, Chicago, Rome. Moldovan designers won the first prizes in all categories at the Odessa Fashion Week. And all of them will present their creations on the podium in the framework of the MOLDOVA FASHION EXPO. Valentina Radcenco added that, undoubtedly, the visitors and fashion connoisseurs will appreciate what makes the Moldovan designers special - "amazing handmade work". According to her, more than 60 collections will be shown during 3 days of the Festival and it will finish on Saturday, with the first in Moldova evening of haute couture with the presentations of three important couturiers from Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.

In the conclusion of the opening ceremony, prizes from the exhibitors were given to the winners of competitions.

The Fashion Week at Moldexpo will last until November 5 (including). We are waiting for you

from 10.00 to 18.00 in the central and the 2nd pavilions of IEC Moldexpo.
